As sustainability of our natural aggregates becomes increasingly important, the focus on recycled materials in South Africa grows. With construction and demolition waste accounting for a large portion of land fill space, diversion of reusable materials is essential.
We actively encourage the general public, smaller builders, landscapers and DIY enthusiasts to come along and purchase directly from our quarry weighbridge offices – no matter how small the quantity of product required.
Because we want to divert reusable materials from landfills, we recycle wood into chips for use as mulch and animal bedding.
Here are a few reasons to mulch with our 100% recycled wood chips:
- Naturally retains soil moisture thus reducing water consumption.
- Insulates your plants by controlling soil temperature.
- Prevents soil compaction and soil erosion, improving soil condition and aeration.
- Good durability and slow decomposition.
Recycled Wood Chips
Remanufactured aggregate: crushed concrete, rock, brick and general rubble.
Examples of aggregate uses:
- Erosion Control and Slope Protection
- Acid Neutralisation
- Reclamation of Mine Sites
- General Construction
A crushed recycled bedding and fill sand. Suitable for back filling, and under pavers, concrete slabs, and as a pipe bedding sand for back filled trenches.
Remanufactured products offer significant environmental and sustainability advantages by reducing pressure on virgin materials, natural habitats and landfill.
After demolition, bricks can be recovered and recycled or reused. After removing the remains of plaster, bricks remain reusable for restoration or for new homes and building projects. Recovered bricks give a building an exceptional appearance and character.
Our recycled bricks can be used for any number of jobs including:
- Cement Rendering
- Feature Walls
- Paving Your Driveway
- Landscaping – Garden Paths
